“2000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பாடசாலைகளுக்கு சென்று தான் வடமேல் கல்வியமைச்சர் மற்றும் முதலமைச்சர் என்கின்ற விதத்தில் பல கட்டிடங்களினை திறந்து வைத்துள்ளேன்; அவற்றில் ஒறு கட்டிடத்துக்கு கூட எனது பெயரினை வைக்க நான் அனுமதிக்கவில்லை, ஆண்டிமுனை தமிழ் வித்தியாலய அதிபர் இவ்வூர் மக்கள் சார்பாக என்னை தொடர்ச்சியாக வற்புறுத்தியதினாலேயே நான் எனது தந்தையின் பெயரினை இப் பாடசாலையின் வாசிகசாலைக்கு வைக்க சம்மதித்தேன்” என வடமேல் மாகாண முதலமைச்சர் அதுல விஜயசிங்க தெரிவித்தார்.
புத்தளம் தெற்கு கல்வி வலயத்துக்குட்பட்ட ஆண்டிமுனை தமிழ் வித்தியாலயத்தின் வாசிகசாலை மற்றும் வகுப்பறை திறந்து வைப்பு நிகழ்வின் பின் நடைப்பெற்ற கூட்டத்தில் உரையாற்றும் போதே முதலமைச்சர் மேற்படி தெரிவித்தார்.
தனது ஒதுக்கீடுகளில் அமைக்கும் சகல கட்டிடங்களுக்கும் தனது பெயரினை பெரிதாக பொறித்து வரும் அரசியல் வாதிக்கும் இவருக்குமிடையிலான வித்தியாசம் இதுதானென கூட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்ட மக்கள் தங்களுக்குள் குசுகுசுத்துக்கொண்டனர்.

I was one of the participants in a function took place last week. While we engaged in discussion about the current affairs of our region, a person pointed out the plastic chair in which I was sitting and said “Think twice before you talk”. I was surprisingly asked “Why?”
“You are sitting on a chair presented by so and so! You always talk that they play havoc with Puttalam interests and sabotage the existence of the sons of the soil” “don’t you think that this is improper” I surprisingly looked at the plastic chair. There you are! The whole stretch of the sitting area’s margin filled with the titles… “Honorable bla bla bla blaaa”
Following was my humble answer for that utterance!
“If he gets a chance he will fix his lengthy titles even in a paper pin. Puttalam people should have a proper vision to realize the different between the ‘RIGHTS’ and the ‘ALMS’. Whatever given by them to Puttalam for the last couple of years, we deserved to get them, because we had been having them and tolerating them for two decades. In that case the State and the IDP politicians should think honestly whether they have given the adequate proportion to the starving Puttalam host community, while gradually losing their all resources and opportunities.
The trouble here is the trumpets, puppets, pennames of them propagate these as ALMS and require Puttalam folk to be grateful to their masters!
