NALLANDALUVAI (601) in Viratodai division, Akkarai pattu south, Puttalam pattu division, Puttalam District. Given in the Census for 1881 as Nallantaluwi ; in that for 1891 as Nallantaluwai ; and in the A.L.(1907) as Nallandaluwa.

Distance and Situation.- 10 miles from Puttalam on the Chilaw road ; 2 miles from the 8th milestone.

Church.- A Roman Catholic Church.

Tank.- In Repair.

Paddy Fields, irrigated by it.

Coconut Gardens.- In flourishing condition.

 

Population.- 1881 – 43 houses ; 94 males, 77 females, 171 persons. 1891 – 46 houses ; 99 males, 73 females, 172 persons. 1901 – 31 houses ; 78 males, 63 females, 141 persons.

Religion.- 5 Christians ; 4 Hindus ; 132 Muhammadans.

Race.- 5 Low- Country Sinhalese ; 5 Tamils ; 131 Moors.

Literacy.- 38 males.

Age.- 0-5 10 males, 11 females ; 5-15 11 males, 13 females, 15-30 32 males, 22 females ; 30-55 20 males, 16 females ; over 55 2 males, 1 female.

Occupation.- 39 Pasture and agriculture ; 5 traders ; 1 Professional ; 93 dependents.
