LAKERS BATTLE – 2019 SEASON

• Lakers Battle Committee –

PUTTALAM LAKERS CRICKET CLUB founded on the day of 16^th February, 2017. The purpose of the club is to exclusively promote the sport of Cricket (especially hardball) in Puttalam and encourage community participation in the same. This club is unbiased and functions liberally without any political or other outside pressure.

The Lakers Battle is a twelve overs, eight players inter club cricket tournament of Puttalam
Lakers Cricket Club planned to be contested during first quarter of every year with the players
representing the club equally categorized and distributed into four teams Lakers Thunders
(Yellow), Lakers Challengers (Red), Lakers Warriors (Green) and Lakers Strikers (Blue).

A team for guests “Lakers Guesters” (White) also designed to encourage participation of the guests and six overs, eight guest players an exhibition match will be played against a Lakers
mixed selected senior team during the opening of Lakers Battle tournament, which is subjected to
make alternations according to availability of guest players and time permits.

The Lakers Battle is designed to entice an entire new generation of hardball cricket fans into the
grounds throughout Puttalam Town. The dynamic Lakers Battle format has been designed to
attract a young fan base in the region.
